Construction happens, and at Vassar it happens mostly during the summer. That’s good for the students, but it doesn’t make a great first impression on the scores of summer visitors.
Main Building, a National Historic Landmark, is the first thing visitors see when they drive through Main Gate. When large sections of the roof had to be replaced a few years ago, College Relations wanted to find a way to mitigate the negative impact. We created a series of large banners to mask the construction fencing, featuring huge reproductions of historic photos along with interesting and little known facts about the history of the building.
