Distributed free of charge throughout the Hudson Valley, New York House is not your ordinary real estate flyer. Supported by substantial advertising revenues, House is a large-format, four-color monthly magazine published by Schein Media whose original aim was to sell houses and real estate services.
Under Jim Andrews’ editorial direction, House evolved also into a forum for discussion of more substantive housing issues, especially green design and green building in the upstate New York region. Every issue presents creative ideas and pleasing outcomes of homeowners who have branched out from standard building and design methods. In this issue, Lorrie Klosterman, a regular contributor to House, wrote a feature article about dome-shaped homes in the Hudson Valley, describing how their unique structures are environmentally beneficial.
